On behalf of the AFSGE Board, I would like to welcome you to the 1st Congress of the African Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy. This Congress will take place in the Congress Palace, March, 8 -12, 2010 in YAOUNDE - CAMEROON (Central Africa) one of the most beautiful, tremendous and enchanting city in African setting.
During the last fifteen years, the introduction of Endoscopic Surgery in African setting had remained very controversial. Luxury or necessity, those techniques had to be widely assessed on some diseases, particularly common in our area before being more widespread.
Despite the economic crises, with breathtaking speed, African Gynaecologists are now moving from traditional surgery to Endoscopic surgery. After many years of activities, we think that the time has come, to bring African Gynaecologists to the practice of Endoscopy and to share their experience with the rest of the world.
For the first time, during four days, the world attention will be focused on the African Gynaecologists, in conjunction with the famous American, European, Asia and Australian leading speakers in the field of Endoscopy and as they bring the attendees new findings fresh concepts, dynamic theories and operative techniques that will be the building block for even further advances in Gynaecological Surgery in the coming decades.

President of the Congress
Prof. Jean Marie KASIA
