Thursday 11, 2008 (19.00-22.00) Garden party/barbecue After the Opening ceremony, you are kindly invited to participate in the garden party/barbecue in the Faculté de Médecine garden with the jazz band “Sac à Pulses”. Be careful the last metro is around midnight. Friday 12, 2008 (18.00-20.00) Tour of Lyon Accompanied by specialist guides, you will set off in small groups for an enthralling tour of Lyon. The tour’s start point, Place Bellecour, set in the heart of the Presqu’île, is one of the largest paved square in Europe with at its centre, a huge equestrian statue of Louis XIV. (Pedestrian circuit/duration 2 hours) You can make a personal reservation for the dinner after the visit at the welcome desks before Thursday evening. Saturday 13, 2008 (19.00-23.30) Gala dinner in the Beaujolais The departure to the gala dinner is scheduled at 19.00 by bus directly from the Faculté de Médecine. During a 1 hour trip you will discover the “Beaujolais” which is one of the most famous regions of wine. On the way back, the buses will leave at your hotels. Please be careful at the departure to take the right bus. Special note: if you have booked your hotel by yourself and not through the website of the meeting, please check which hotel is the nearest from yours. Dance shows The Lyon Dance Biennale will be celebrating its 25th anniversary with 17 new co-productions, 10 French premieres, 43 companies from 19 countries, 4.500 défilé dancers, and over 85.000 spectators expected. On Sunday 14 from 15.00 from Place des Terreaux to Place Bellecour Le Défilé Le Défilé is Europe’s biggest choreographed parade inspired by the Rio Carnival’s samba schools; it unites the people of Greater Lyon at the heart of the city. This year, over 4.500 amateur participants in 15 groups, coached by 250 professional artists under the artistic direction of choreographers, will perform “Legends of the Future” along Rue de la République.
